Converted from an old cargo ship, the Queen Lhaminn is a triumph of modern leisure, putting most places of summer relaxation to complete shame. The Brimming Heart, the beaches of Thavnair, even Costa del Sol itself - where the ship is presently located, can't compare to the new floating resort. Named after reclusive former celebrity dancer and rumored adult entertainer F'lhaminn Qesh, the ship is the place to be during these dog days of summer.

The resort has converted much of its upper cargo storage into a large pool. Its deck features performance space, a bar, the kind of acrobatic challenges Eorzeas love, and plenty of space to relax in the sun. Though the Queen Lhaminn, like her namesake, really lets her beauty shine at night with some elaborate lighting displays around the pool and deck. It really does seem to be the future of luxury.

And that resort is currently playing host to the annual Adventurer's Guild summer outreach festival, the Moonfire Faire. Whether it wants to or not, actually, but more on that later. In addition to the normal deck offerings, when stationary the Queen Lhaminn has several water slides deployed off one side, while the other features cannon rides that shoot festival goers into the open sea.

That latter offering sounds dangerous, but the Adventurer's Guild has prepared a large squad of life guards to rescue swimmers out of their depth or address any failures on the attractions. With shockingly bright uniforms designed by Miqo'te fashion mogul T'zanza these lifeguards are easy to spot and able to quickly render assistance.

Reviews from revelers have been overwhelmingly positive. The Queen Lhaminn has been busy 24 bells a day, eight days a week since it made landfall in Costa del Sol. From Ishgardian nobles experiencing the most summer they can bear to decorated adventurers the resort has proven its ability to attract and entertain everyone. It's also a family-friendly environment, says Zhloe Aliapoh.

"It's nice to offer children a chance to go out to festivals like this." Aliapoh, who manages Menphina's Arms Orphanage in Idyllshire, told the Courier. "With all the work and stress in our lives it can be so nice to get out for a while. Khloe and T'kebbe love it and the pineapple daiquiris are amazing. Um, for me, not for the kids. Have you seen them, by the way?"

The lively atmosphere on deck appeals to more than just children or de facto parents who like a good daiquiri. Revelers like Jocelyn Braveheart have praised the cannon rides, wanting to take one home. Others like former Garlean idol Echo Lilius hope to perform on the ship's stage one day, possibly during a cruise.

Which isn't to say that there isn't a place for peace and tranquility on deck. Watching the fireworks from the pool at night can be soothing and enjoyable, as is getting into one of the floaties out in the pool and sprawling out. Granted the idea of being on something floating in a pool on something floating in the ocean is something of a nesting doll decision, but it's hard to deny the appeal of the quiet moments on the Queen Lhaminn.

"If you can find a quiet place in the pool it is not terrible for relaxing," said festival attendee Delquina Seiha. She did have some criticisms for the Lhaminn, though, adding  "The rigging they arranged for the sake of amusement is a little easy compared to what my clan has at home. A tad impractical, but a nice way to pass a hot day."

Though likely not here to stay, the Queen Lhaminn is here for a while. When coming in to make port at Costa del Sol, the ship appears to have run aground on the Isle of Endless Summer. The ship's rudder appears to be well and truly lodged in the small island. The Moonfire Faire celebration is also buying time for the crew of the resort ship to conduct necessary repairs from the accident. So fairegoers are advised to make the most of the Queen Lhaminn's extended stay while they can.
